Way back in February on Flickr.
Via Flickr: There’s something about shooting with Jilly that makes the whole process an effort to me. A very pleasing effort, mind you, but an effort nonetheless. Maybe it’s because we started hanging out through kind of an awkward mutual acquaintance sort of thing that took a while to get the hang of. Maybe it’s because she tends to be spectacularly quick-witted when I least expect it – which in turn throws my wit off-balance. Maybe it’s because she’s a groovy lady I’m grateful to be able to call my friend. It’s juggling between hanging-out and talking the good talk and not losing focus on the picture you want to (try to) take. It’s a bit like the Bouncing Souls, I guess. Hangin’ out with Jilly is like Kids and Heroes: a friendly reminder of who I am, who I was and who I wanna be.
I’m pretty sure I was going somewhere with this (put in effort, stay sharp, shit like that) but I’m just going to wrap it up here. Sometimes a little gratitude is all there needs to be.

This is one of my favorite shots so far. There’s something about it that pulls me in the way Vigo did to Ray.
